We are looking for a Sr. Metrology Specialist to help us achieve our aspiration to be the best manufacturer of Cell & Gene therapies to ensure our patients have the treatments they need to live longer, healthier lives.

The Sr. Metrology Specialist is responsible for a variety of tasks related to calibrations of equipment, vendor work orders, and administering equipment change requests in a timely manner. The ideal candidate for this role will be self-directed, working closely with internal and external customers to coordinate activities.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • This role is responsible for effective and efficient calibrations, ensuring compliance with Novartis quality standards and applicable cGMP regulations.
  • Facilitates instrumentation calibration/qualification with external vendors, internal and/or external resources, and local system owners.
  • Ensure compliance to cGMP, regulatory regulations, and Novartis global and local policy for equipment.
  • Develop/review appropriate SOPs and corresponding forms.
  • Responsible for performing all assigned activities within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Effectively communicates and collaborates with all levels of the organization.
  • Address, assign, and ensure completion of High priority work requests. Ensure activities performed under their supervision comply with all safe work practices and policies.
  • Exhibits outstanding problem-solving abilities and completes tasks with precision and accuracy.
  • Provide support during audits and inspections.

Shift:  This role works Wed-Sat, 10am-8:30pm.  This role may require overtime as needed.   

Essential Requirements:

  • High School diploma required. BS/BA degree in Engineering, life sciences or another related field is preferred.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., assisted
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Minimum 3 years’ Calibration experience or applicable experience in a related area.
  • Experience working in Building Automation Systems (BAS), SAP or equivalent systems.
  • Previous experience gowning within a cleanroom environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • BSC certification and HEPA room certification highly preferred

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $33.65 to $62.50/hour; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
